Measure Description

DefinitionThis indicator measures the percentage of adults who self-rated their mental health as being "excellent" or "very good" and is expressed as a proportion of the total population aged 18+ years.

Estimate CalculationNumerator: Number of adults aged 20+ years who report their mental health is "very good" or "excellent". Denominator: Total population, aged 20+ years. Statistics Canada derived variable "perceived mental health" (2003: GENC_02B, 2005: GENE_02B, 2007-2014: GENDMHI, 2015-2021: GENDVMHI) was used to calculate this indicator.
