Multi-Sectoral Partnerships to Promote Healthy Living and Prevent Chronic DiseaseBETA
Canada recognizes that chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease are among the leading causes of death and reduced quality of life. Several common risk factors that contribute to chronic disease include physical inactivity and/or sedentary behaviour, unhealthy eating, and smoking.
Through the Multi-sectoral Partnerships to Promote Healthy Living and Prevent Chronic Disease program, PHAC invests about $20 million annually in projects that test or scale innovative ideas to encourage behaviour changes that will improve the health of Canadians.
