Key findings
A total of 90,929 tissues were transplanted during 2011-2024, with 8,800 tissues just for the 2024 year.
- 55 transplantation adverse events (TAEs) were reported during 2011-2024, which refers to any unintended or untoward medical occurrence that may be consequent or related to cells, tissues, or organs that are transplanted. An adverse event may be considered to be an incident or reaction.
- In 2024, there were only 3 TAEs reported, all related to ocular tissues. All TAEs were graft rejections. The incidence rate was 0.34 TAEs/1,000 grafts.
