Province/territory of residence based on health card. Province/territory comparison excludes data from unknown provinces and territories.
Primary Cesarean: The primary cesarean rate is the number of cesarean deliveries to women who have not had a previous cesarean delivery, expressed as a percentage of all deliveries to women who have not had a cesarean previously. This includes deliveries to primiparous and multiparous women.
Repeat Cesarean: The repeat cesarean rate is the percentage of cesarean deliveries among women who have previously had a cesarean delivery.

    Additional Remarks Data from Quebec are excluded as they are not available from the CIHI-DAD. Results were obtained for patient's province of residence and province of occurrence.
